I've seen enough: Susan Crawford defeats Brad Schimel in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election, preserving liberals' 4-3 majority.

Democrats are performing so well in low-salience races that you almost wonder if they’d be better off not advertising in special elections at all. The Dem base is extremely attuned to off-cycle races, even when they get no coverage. As spending goes up, more Republicans tune in.

Still seeing "Harris couldn't turn out millions of Biden voters," and the count in swing states says that's not true. In Wisconsin, Harris got 37k more votes than Biden. The most votes of any Dem candidate since Obama in 2008. She lost bc Trump added 77k more votes since 2020.

Keep in mind the Iowa poll may be an outlier but there have been a number of outliers in the Midwest: Kansas - Trump only up by 5% Nebraska - Harris up 12% in C.D. 2 Ohio - Trump only up by 3%. Taken together, Iowa looks less like an outlier. Something real is happening here.

Selzer is again finding something nobody else shows. Even if you take the very tail of the range implied by the margin of error, you’d still get Trump +4 in a state he won by 8, and if that’s happening he’s probably losing the election comfortably. Major props for being brave.
