COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Columbus United FC have become the underdog story of the summer here in the fountain city, and now they find themselves in the final 4 and just 2 wins away from a national championship in their inaugural season. That was thought to be an impossible feat just over a month ago when the team was winless through their first 3 games of the summer. Now, a massive turnaround and an incredible run of form see the team in the final four among 90 total teams.

PHENIX CITY Ala. (WTVM) - Central High School hosted the 3rd annual Tommie Robinson youth football camp Saturday Afternoon. The camp featured several Phenix City Icons as well as Central High School Alums. Tommie Robinson Jr. is a native of Phenix City and is currently serving under Head Coach Deion Sanders for the Colorado Buffs. He spoke to us about the impact he wanted to have on the youth and he plans to do this again next year.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - There's a new soccer club in the Fountain City, Columbus United FC. This club, led by head coach Brett Teach, has brought in talent from all over the globe, whether it be Brazil, England, Ghana, etc. This group is as diverse as they are talented, featuring a boatload of D1 talent. Columbus United are three games into their summer session for 2024 and have a record of 0-1-2.
