Whiteman Air Force Base in western Missouri has increased security in response to missiles launched and drone attacks between Israel and Iran. On Facebook, the base says it is not aware of specific threats against the installation. However, employees and visitors should plan for increased safety measures on the installation and/or longer wait times to access the base. The extra security is being taken indefinitely.

The recent special session of the Missouri Legislature achieved their main goals. State Senator Jill Carter told Newstalk KZRG:“There were essentially three bills that passed the legislature that was Senate bill one that had to do with and you could put these bills in probably three categories. One had to do with disaster relief, one was the stadium package and then one was real estate property tax freezes.

At 1:36PM, June 16th, the Joplin 911 center received a report of a fire located at the Tanglewood Apartment Complex (2525 E. 32nd St.). On arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from an apartment on the second floor of Building J. Fire crews began an aggressive attack on the fire while simultaneously clearing the rest of the building of occupants. The fire was placed under control within 15 minutes of arrival. There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters.
