    The World Street Painting Festival wrapped up at 2 p.m. in Joplin Saturday. Patrick Tuttle of the Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau says the event features 10 international artists who have created stunning 3-D art. The festival celebrates Joplin’s contribution to the Route 66 centennial. Next year, even more artists will take part. The murals, painted on the interior streets on the south side of Schifferdecker will be available for public viewing at least until the fall of 2027.

During the campaign, deputies conducted 131 vehicle stops, resulting in 34 seat belt citations, 2 child restraint citations, 14 speeding citations, and 20 other citations including 3 DUI arrests.

    JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is accepting Source Water Protection Project Grant applications from eligible public drinking water systems through Aug. 15, 2025. The grant offers up to $25,000 to eligible community water systems that produce all or a portion of their drinking water from a raw water source, such as groundwater, lakes or rivers.
