PHARR, Texas – More than 40 nonprofit organizations and churches in the Rio Grande Valley have written to U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz urging them to reject a proposed $300 billion cut in the SNAP program. SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The letter was organized by Feeding Texas. Including Feeding Texas, 50 statewide organizations have signed the letter.
