Whether you believe official bureaucracy-generated inflation rates or whether you put more stock in first-hand observation of pricing at your local grocery store and gas pumps, one thing is for sure: A lot of riders feel that life in general has gotten more expensive. In turn, that means travel is also more expensive, and most of us have less money for such fun things. In particular, accommodations have gotten a lot more expensive.

You can tell that the motorcycle industry in general agrees with ADVrider’s assessment of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450—it’s a winner. Welcome to Photos of the Week. We begin with a shot you didn’t expect: a Harley chopper so classically and neatly done that I couldn’t resist it. In today’s world of overdone and ridiculous customs, this is a neat example of what made the brand famous. Extended springer fork, rigid frame, molded custom seat, sissy bar, and upswept exhaust pipes. It’s not too much or too little; in fact, if a chopper could be said to be unpretentious, this is what it looks like.

Welcome to Photos of the Week. We begin with a shot by @Larry, who sent us the picture of him riding his 1993 BMW R100 GS on a deteriorating road between Santiago de Cuba and Pilon, in Cuba. “Since the Russian subsidies ran out, still my favorite ride in Cuba.” He says he took this ride after a sailboat crossing from Cancun in Mexico. Below, another shot of the road, from the opposite direction, reminding us that it’s good to go slow in some places.
