Roguelike games can be some of the more fun games around because they’re different every time you play it. I was able to get some hands-on time at Ocean Drive Studios with Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch.

 Published May 10, 2025 4:55 PM It's always a fun time at XSEED!It wouldn’t be a trip to Boston for PAX East without a stopover at the XSEED Games booth to see some of my PR friends that I have known for a few years now. XSEED always brings their A-game to Massachusetts and this year was no different. There were plenty of games to look forward to but two caught my eye.

 Published May 9, 2025 10:19 PM See what Ysbryd Games brought to Boston this year! I have covered a lot of Ysbryd Games in my time and it’s always a good time at their booth during PAX East. Ysbryd Games is usually where I run into most of my PR contacts and get to put a face to the name. I was able to schedule an appointment with Ysbryd Games to see two games, Love Eternal and Everdeep Aurora. Two games that have similar themes but in different ways to show them off.

 Published May 9, 2025 9:29 PM Paint, paint, and paint some more! Next up was an appointment at the ByteRockers Games booth. There were a few games with demo versions to play at the booth but there was one that caught my attention. I feel like my taste in games has changed slightly and I’m being drawn more to Metroidvania. That being said, I wanted to check out Constance, a story about an artist who is dealing with both enemies and her declining mental health.

 Published May 9, 2025 9:02 PM Demons invade the Roguelike space!Before PAX East I had heard things about a game called Hellclock. It was a Roguelike game that put its own spin on things. It was telling a tale of Canudos, a town that tried to defy the Republican Army. That was a big mistake as thousands of people perished at the hands of the army. You play as Pajeu who fought against the army and won his freedom and tried to save the Counselor.
