    Jess Fishlock scored in her 200th regular-season NWSL match as Seattle Reign earned a hard-fought three points on the road against the North Carolina Courage. Jordyn Bugg blasted a shot from distance to double the Reign's lead, with the final score ending at 2-1 in the Reign's favor. Bugg's first NWSL goal came from 32.7 yards out, the longest ever scored by a teenager in the NWSL.

    Seattle Reign ventured to North Carolina for their first road match of the season, facing a tough Courage side with a 9-1-0 record at home against the Reign. The Reign weren't deterred and earned a 2-1 road win. Jess Fishlock opened the scoring in the 35th minute on a well-worked team goal that was assisted by Maddie Mercado. Jordyn Bugg doubled the lead in the 56th on a banger from distance. The Reign then took the foot off the gas and let North Carolina pressure them for the final 20 minutes.

    Under a new ownership group, Seattle Reign is preparing to kick off the club’s 2025 National Women’s Soccer League season. It will be both the club’s and league’s 13th seasons. After a frustrating 2024 season, the Reign are ready to put their stamp on this new era under local ownership that includes the Seattle Sounders and Carlyle Group. “You’re going to hear a lot about it being a new era for Reign,” said Reign chief business officer Maya Mendoza-Exstrom in a press conference last week.
