Last week, Ridgewood showed the N.J. girls flag football community that they’re still one of the top perennial forces in the state with their 34-0 victory over St. Benedict’s. The Maroons added another impressive win this week during their SFC crossover matchup against Paterson Kennedy. The defending North Jersey champions racked up four touchdowns through the air for a 26-0 victory, becoming the first team this season to score more than a touchdown in a game against Paterson Kennedy.

The spring edition of the Middletown South-Middletown North rivalry on the gridiron was renewed at Middletown High School North on Thursday evening. It featured a star-studded performance by Middletown South junior quarterback Cameryn Czwakiel, who tallied four total touchdowns and 276 yards of total offense to lead the Eagles to a 26-6 victory over their rival. “It feels great to compete against Middletown North and get a win against them,” Czwakiel said.

This past week has brought out the best from the cream of the crop across the N.J. girls flag football landscape, especially in the Big Central Conference. Kent Place sophomore quarterback Avery Delaney racked up 200 yards on the ground during a game on May 5 against Montville, finishing the contest with 325 total yards and two touchdowns. Delaney now stands with 1,419 yards passing and 762 rushing yards this spring to go along with her 22 total touchdowns.
