INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We are staying on course with a cooler than normal and mostly dry forecast for race weekend. Then, we’ll see rain chances increase into midweek next week. Friday night: Skies to remain partly to mostly cloudy tonight as lows drop into the upper 40s. Saturday: A warmer day will emerge for Legends Day with skies staying partly sunny. For those heading to the Indy 500 parade in downtown, you may need a light jacket. Otherwise, highs will push into the upper 60s.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After seeing our temperatures struggle due to extensive cloud cover through our Thursday, we’ll rebound a little going into Indy 500 race weekend. Thursday night: A few showers will linger into early tonight. Lows in the mid 40s. We also cannot rule out some patchy fog early Friday morning. Friday: Expect more sunshine to return for the end of the workweek and warmer temperatures. We’re talking highs in the mid 60s under partly cloudy skies.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We’re eyeing a below normal temperature pattern that looks to extend into Indy 500 race weekend. There are also rain chances into Thursday and on race day Sunday. Wednesday night: A few on and off showers may linger into tonight with winds staying breezy at times. Lows will fall into the upper 40s. Thursday: A mere copycat of Wednesday’s forecast plays out for Thursday as the low just to our northeast pivots more scattered showers into our area.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Remain weather aware later this afternoon into our Friday night for the threat of severe storms. Tornado watches remains in effect until 11 PM EDT across most of central and southern Indiana. Friday night: We will watch to our west for a cluster of showers and storms that arrives to the Illinois/Indiana border closer to 6 PM. Then, we expect mainly a line cluster (possibly more than one) to race across the state at up to an estimated storm motion speed of 55-70 MPH at times.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We are tracking a threat for severe weather Thursday night and again Friday afternoon-night. The risk for Friday is higher and could be a more widespread event. Thursday night: Some storm development may occur into tonight as a cap tries to prevent activity from getting going. The best chance for any storm formation will be north of interstate 70, but areas near and south of interstate 70 need to remain weather aware.
