The term pro-touring is often overused. To some a set of over-bolstered seats, tubular control arms, and slightly wider 300-treadwear tires are enough to tag a car as pro-touring. But real pro-touring, just like pro-street, requires more. Of course, there’s still a lot of wiggle room between a real-deal pro-touring car and something as insanely off the hook as this 1964 Ford Galaxie 500.

Day five of the HOT ROD Power Tour West, sponsored by Amazon, Kaeser Compressors, and Pilot Transport, was, at 231 miles, the longest leg of our five-day rolling car show through the Southwest. In total, this year’s Power Tour West traversed 670 miles of byways and backroads. That was certainly a shorter distance than our main Power Tour covers, but the geography of the western United States is quite different as well.
