A five-year-old boy tragically died after being found at the bottom of a hotel swimming pool while on holiday with his family in Egypt, and inquest heard. Kelan Logan-Derench passed away at the El Nile Hospital in Cairo on November 25 last year, despite attempts to resuscitate him. A written verdict by Birmingham and Solihull Coroner's Court senior coroner Louise Hunt concluded that Kelan's death was an accident.

The family of a vulnerable woman who was found dead in her flat after more than three years had raised concerns about her welfare nearly two months before her body was discovered, an inquest has heard. Laura Winham's remains were discovered by her brother in her Woking, Surrey flat in May 2021. Ms Winham, who was 41 at the time of discovery, was found after her family requested police to force entry into her home due to worries about her safety.
