The brave victim of a controlling abuser's sickening attacks on her as a child has spoken out about how his vile behaviour ruined her life. Tonight, Shelim Ahmed, 37, is behind bars after pleading to 15 counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child in the early 2000s. He was 17 when he committed the offences. Ahmed plied the schoolgirl with alcohol before committing the offences. His victim, who now lives in Lancashire, reported the offences to Lancashire Police in October 2022.

Brave onlookers tackled a man to the ground and held him until police arrived - after he was seen exposing himself. Police were called to Hoghton Bottoms yesterday afternoon (Saturday April 5) to reports a man had been detained by members of the public. It was the second time in two days officers had been alerted to reports of indecent exposure in Hoghton. A 36-year-old - of no fixed address - was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure.

A woman was seriously injured in a horror crash on a notorious stretch of road in rural Lancs. Police were called to Long Hey Lane, Darwen, at 3.10pm yesterday (April 5) following reports of a crash involving a Renault Clio and a Volkswagen Scirocco. One of the cars had left the road. One of the drivers - a woman in her 20s - was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a number of serious injuries. The road was closed for much of the rest of the day while detectives investigated the crash.

Concerns are growing for a missing 20-year-old from Lancaster. Police said Emily Kinsey was last seen yesterday (Friday April 4) in the Greaves Road area of the city and nobody has seen or heard from her since. She described as 5ft 4, very slim, with shoulder length straight black hair, thick rimmed glasses and speaks with a north-east/Geordie accent. She was last seen wearing black pants, a black top, a red and black checked shirt and black Doc Marten boots.
