Sarah recently became a homeowner on the island and intends to "relocate there in a few years".

    The trial of two men charged with the murder of Lenny Scott is underway. Elias Morgan and Anthony Cleary are charged with the murder of dad-of-three Mr Scott, who was 33 when he was shot outside a gym on Peel Road in Skelmersdale on February 8 last year. Mr Scott, from Prescot, died of serious gunshot injuries in hospital soon after. Morgan, 35, and of Highgate Street, and Cleary, 29, and of Smithdown Lane, both of Edge Hill, were charged in June 2024 with the alleged offence.

    Darwen Town Hall will reopen next week after a £350,000 refurbishment, slightly later than originally planned. Staff including those on reception will return to the historic building on Wednesday. The front desk services will continue to be in Darwen Market until Tuesday.

    Action is being taken to protect a council-owned bowling green vandalised with a swastika in earlier this year. Hyndburn Council has submitted a planning application to fence it off to prevent further damage to the turf at Accrington’s Oakhill Park in Manchester Road. In January vandals carved a swastika, a phallic symbol, and a racist word into the carefully manicured green leading to warnings that it could take months to fully repair the turf.
