For the first time in school history, Papillion-La Vista South is No. 1 in boys basketball. The Titans took the ranking from Omaha Westside, which had been the last undefeated team in Class A, with Thursday’s 60-59 victory over the Warriors for the Metro Conference holiday tournament title. That also was a first for coach Joel Hueser’s Titans. At 9-1, Papio South’s only loss was 62-55 at Millard South in the first of three games senior point guard Reece Kircher was out with an injury.
