Chef notesThis is an easy stew I've adapted from my grilling beans recipe that I make so much. There's really no recipe. That's what keeps it so simple — you just pour everything in the pot and let it go. So many different canned beans work here, including cannellini or pinto. And if you don't have or can't find gochujang, you can use the same amount of sambal or garlic chile paste.

I'm a Minnesota kid. I grew up in the Cities (Fridley to be exact), and attended the University of Minnesota. I spent some time in Minneapolis and Saint Cloud before moving down here -- yet there are some very Minnesota things that I have never experienced, and I don't know why. These are not things that I have intentionally avoided. In fact, I believe I would probably really enjoy each and every one of them. Its just for some reason, to this point in my life I have never crossed paths with them.

Chef notesThis gorgeously green burger makes such great use of the herbs in my garden. It comes loaded with the fresh flavor of cilantro, dill, mint, parsley and scallions, a kick from the jalapeño and a satisfying crunch from potato chips. Technique tip: Sprinkle seasonings high for better coverage and don't overmix the meat for a juicier burger. Swap option: This makes a tasty chicken or turkey burger, too — just be sure to cook them all the way through. or

Chef notesThis drink is a play on the classic Long Island iced tea, but instead of all the liquor of the original, it uses actual iced tea. It's perfect for a party — just put out the pitcher, a bucket of ice, cups and it's a self-serve cocktail. Technique tip: Like cooking with wine, make sure you like the limoncello before using in this recipe. The longer this refrigerates, the better it tastes. Swap option: Lemon sorbet is a great substitute for the limoncello here.

Packaged drinks I would rather not: 1. Tea or flat water from a can 2. Soda from a 2 liter bottle 3. Single serve juice from a glass bottle They don't taste right like that, to me. This is my culinary statement of the day.

My favorite MRE from the military was the chicken ala king. The teeny tiny bottle of Tabasco sauce was a must. Only ate it as a novelty and I'm appreciative for that and others that ate it as necessity🙇🏾‍♀️. This is my culinary memory of the day. ❤️🤍💙
