Two arm’s-length bodies have this week announced that their next chief executives will be job-share appointments. The Trade Remedies Authority – the UK’s post-Brexit watchdog responsible for investigating alleged unfair trading practices – has unveiled Jessica Blakely and Carmen Suarez as its job-share chief executives. They will take up post at the authority, which is an ALB of the Department for Business and Trade, on 2 June.

Maura Sullivan has been appointed as chair of the Cabinet Office Audit and Risk Committee for a term of three years. Sullivan is “a finance professional with an executive career spanning board-level CFO roles in banking, asset management and pensions”, the Cabinet Office said in a statement. Her experience includes working in “complex international organisations”, managing large teams and leading “large transformation programmes”, it added.

HMPPS is searching for 35 talented individuals from diverse backgrounds for the first intake of the new three-year Future Prison Leaders Programme. The selected few will start out on the frontline as prison officers, and be fast-tracked to become a senior leader running their own prison department in year three.
