    BRANFORD - Merchants and residents who dreaded the major road construction on Main Street set for this summer will get a temporary reprieve, say town officials. The town is holding off digging up Main Street and the town green until the fall, due to a glitch in the bidding process, officials said. The new timeline would mean that the disruption could continue through the summer of 2026.

    GUILFORD - Tony nominee Will Aronson has been enthralled with musical theater since he was young, especially when playing trombone in the orchestra pit in a Guilford High School production. Now, Aronson, who graduated from Guilford High in 2000, is nominated for four Tony Awards for his work on "Maybe Happy Ending." Aronson, along with co-creator Hue Park are nominated for best musical, book, score and orchestrations.

    MADISON - It's been a long road for restaurateur Francesco Lulaj, owner of Killingworth's La Foresta, to achieve his dream and open Madison Prime Steakhouse. A suited Lulaj recently stood tall a few hours before the first official dinner service as the aroma of sizzling steaks teased the air. He glanced at his watch but beamed as town officials trickled into the new high-end eatery, completely transformed from when it was the old Madison Winter Club at 251 Boston Post Road.

    BRANFORD - Efforts are underway to build 172 apartments after three years of no activity at the shuttered Regal Cinemas property. First Selectman Jamie Cosgrove said he's pleased to see work begin at the site, "especially on a main corridor and high visible area," with the lot near "That property lay vacant and that's in need of redevelopment, to see that move forward is a positive for the town." The lot sits near the exit 55 interchange for I-95.

    OLD SAYBROOK - Swapping the much-loved Vicki G. Duffy Pavilion with the vacant riverfront Dock & Dine property is a tough call, but a rare opportunity the town shouldn't pass up, says one town official. Restaurateur Jon Kodama is offering the town the 2.2-acre waterfront site at no cost in exchange for a long-term lease on the pavilion, which he plans to turn into a "casual fare" shore eatery with indoor and outdoor seating.
