DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Bitter-cold temperatures are making an appearance this week in North Texas. Monday has seen the coldest morning in North Texas since last February. Temperatures fell into the upper teens to low 20s with wind chills in the single digits. There's even a winter storm on our hands, starting late Wednesday evening through late Thursday night, according to our latest forecast.

A man who shot his mother's boyfriend Saturday night got arrested Sunday by Fort Worth police. 31-year-old Trace Hemphill shot and killed 51-year-old Byron Blackwell, his mother's boyfriend on Saturday night. According to investigators, Hemphill showed up at his mother's home on North Fork Road to do laundry. He had been kicked out of the house several weeks ago but his mom allowed him back in to do laundry.

Early voting for the May 4th election starts today across Texas and runs through Tuesday, April 30th. If you're planning to vote early remember to bring your ID to the polls. Texas allows 7 forms of ID to be used including a valid Texas Driver's license, Texas DPS election ID card, Texas handgun license, US Military ID, and a US passport. Election Day is Saturday May 4th.

DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- There are too many animals coming in and not enough animals going out for adoption at the Dallas Animal Services. The shelter is over capacity it is in desperate need of good homes for large breed dogs and adult cats. This is why they are urging the public they come meet some beautiful animals just waiting for the right home. Friends of Dallas Animal Services is offering a $50 Petco gift card to the first 100 people who adopt qualified pets between Friday and 6 p.m. Sunday.

Investigation continues after a deadly crash on Eastbound on 635. Police say the crash happened around one this morning. A woman was driving eastbound on 635 when she crashed into a construction barrier near the Skillman exit. Her car then veered back onto the highway where it came to a stop. The woman then got out of her car and was hit by a van. Investigators say the woman died at the scene. The driver of the van stayed on the scene and talked with police.
