ERIN, Wis. — Two teenage friends from Georgia are making a splash at the U.S. Women's Open with their distinctive Wisconsin-themed headwear. Allie Nguyen, 14, and Evelyn Aquilino, 15, arrived at the tournament at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, proudly sporting their Wisconsin souvenirs — cheeseheads. The junior golfers purchased their iconic foam cheese hats at Mars Cheese Castle, a famous Wisconsin landmark. "Last year I had a big hat and I thought it would be cool," Allie told our Susan Kim.

ERIN, Wis. — High school golfers from Hartford Union High School in Washington County are among the approximately 2200 volunteers helping at the U.S. Women's Open, where they're gaining unique experience while supporting professional and some of the best amateur players. Hartford Union High School adjusted its academic calendar this year, ending the school year early so families could participate in the Women's Open — from renting out their homes to volunteering at the tournament.

WellSpace MKE, at 58th and Burleigh and accessible by bus line, offers a sanctuary where you will find trauma therapist, Simmone Kilgore. Kilgore explained that trauma can take many forms. "Trauma can be one traumatic incident like the loss of a loved one. Or it can be complex, like multiple losses," Kilgore said.

She helped spearhead the effort to bring together families with unsolved homicides, Milwaukee Police and the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for conversation and understanding. Gillispie is passionate about lifting up the voices of those who have lost a loved one to gun violence. It's her life's work, because she too has lost a love.
