This May commemorates the 75th anniversary of Mental Health Awareness Month, and the Gallatin Mayor’s Office is gearing up to extend its commitment to supporting mental wellbeing in Tennessee. For the month of May, the courthouse will be lit in green, symbolizing hope, healing, and solidarity with individuals and families affected by mental health challenges. Raising awareness helps our community promote ideas and actions that encourage positive mental health and wellbeing.

A few days ago I drove north on Curran Highway towards North Adams. Just after the venerable Bounti-Fare restaurant and just before an abandoned parking lot, there it was: “Help Save Lives. Carry naloxone,” it read. Above the big black letters, three simple headshots of people who look familiar, professional, kindly and serious.
