WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The journey to becoming a Washington cheerleader for Masako Morishita started with a suitcase and a dream. “I actually came to Washington, DC, just literally with one suitcase. I didn’t bring anything with me,” Morishita remembered. Even as a child growing up in Kobe, Japan, she searched for adventure. At 16 years old, she spent a year in Wisconsin as a foreign exchange student, where she first tried cheerleading.
