Winter storm warning issued for 5 p.m. March 13

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a a winter storm warning for 5 p.m. March 13 for the White Mountains, including the cities and towns of Show Low, Pinetop and Greer. The warning will remain in effect until 5 a.m. on March 14. The National Weather Service is predicting periods of heavy snow this evening for the White Mountains area with wind gusts between 40 to 50 mph. The wind gusts may cause blowing snow which could reduce visibility for drivers.

High winds and winter storm warning issued for parts of Apache and Navajo counties

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory and a winter storm warning for parts of both Navajo and Apache counties for today, March 6. The wind advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m today. The winter storm warning starts at 11 p.m. and runs until 2 a.m. on March 8. Today's forecast for the Show Low area calls for rain or snow showers before 2 p.m. with a chance of rain between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. and more snow after 3 p.m. Less than half an inch of snow is expected to accumulate.
Apache and Navajo counties moves to Stage 1 fire restrictions on Friday

Apache and Navajo counties will move into Stage 1 fire restrictions at 8 a.m. on Feb. 28. The restrictions apply to all of the unincoprated areas of both counties and to all individuals in those counties, including visitors and part-time residents. A number of local cities and towns are also planning to start Stage 1 fire restrictions on Feb. 28.
