    EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — On Monday, the trial for the man accused of killing Evansville DJ Shane Breedlove begins. Jury selection and opening arguments took place. 12 jurors were chosen in total before lunch time, two of which will serve as alternates. The defense will resume their arguments at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Officials believe Bobby Handegard, Jr. is responsible for the murder of DJ Shane Breedlove in July of 2015. Breedlove was walking to work when he was killed on Washington Avenue.

(WEHT) — Following a law limiting communication between students and staff at public schools, Owensboro Public Schools has chosen Google Workspace” and Talking Points as the platforms it wants staff to use. Senate bill 181 was signed in April and will go into effect June 27. All public school districts must use traceable two-way communication from staff, coaches and volunteers.

    CORYDON, Ky.(WEHT) — A big win for Henderson County’s economy. Leaders gathered with the community in Corydon today to celebrate the grand opening of a new mine that promises to bring hundreds of jobs to the area. The Henderson County Mine, now fully operational, is expected to create nearly 500 jobs by the end of this year. It will be led by a subsidiary of Alliance Coal LLC, known as Riverview Coal.
