WTVW is a television station that operates on virtual channel 7 and UHF digital channel 28. It is affiliated with the CW network and is licensed in Evansville, Indiana, serving the Tri-State region that includes parts of southwestern Indiana, northwestern Kentucky, and southeastern Illinois. The station is owned by Mission Broadcasting, while Nexstar Media Group, which previously owned WTVW from 2003 to 2011 and currently owns ABC affiliate WEHT (channel 25), manages WTVW through a shared services agreement. Both stations have their studios located on Marywood Drive in Henderson, Kentucky, and WTVW's transmitter is situated near Chandler, Indiana. CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The Great Bridge Bridge in Chesapeake has reopened after being closed to traffic for an extended period Tuesday because of a heat-related malfunction, according to a city alert. The malfunction was heat related, as Tuesday’s temperatures reached the mid-to-upper 90s, with heat indices between 105 and 112 degrees. Battlefield Boulevard South had been closed in both directions at the bridge since before 3:30 p.m. because of the malfunction.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — On Monday, the trial for the man accused of killing Evansville DJ Shane Breedlove begins. Jury selection and opening arguments took place. 12 jurors were chosen in total before lunch time, two of which will serve as alternates. The defense will resume their arguments at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Officials believe Bobby Handegard, Jr. is responsible for the murder of DJ Shane Breedlove in July of 2015. Breedlove was walking to work when he was killed on Washington Avenue.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The University of Evansville (UE) has been awarded a $500,000 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. as part of the Indiana Youth Programs on Campus (IYPC) Round II program. UE says this renewed support enables UE to expand its youth programming, “empowering” local students to imagine, prepare for and pursue college and career success from an early age. This new grant builds on the $1 million UE received during IYPC’s inaugural funding round in 2022.
