    AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Authorities have again arrested a man accused of chasing down and attacking a hospice worker in an incident that was caught on video. The latest charges against John Rosso, 79, include stalking and filing a false police report of a felony violation. Records show he bonded out on a total bond of $15,000 set May 4. He was previously arrested on a charge of assault and battery, third degree, for the attack on Jasmine Thomas.

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A new push in the search for a Richmond County man. Police say Bruce Barker hasn’t been seen since Feb. 2023 on Milledgeville Road. The sheriff’s office says he disappeared under quote suspicious circumstances. It’s something families with missing loved ones go through daily, in some cases being left with no answers. The sheriff’s office says each case is different, but behind each case is a family waiting for closure.

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Support is growing for Deputy Gavin White, who was shot last Saturday. He was released from the hospital on Thursday. The Shield Club of Greater Augusta helps support police officers, firefighters and first responders in times of need. It starts with seeing a need. For example, if the sheriff’s office needs a k-9 unit or more radios. More recently, they are making sure the families of both deputies Sikes and White are getting all the help they can give.

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Not every district is doing what it should to keep your child safe. Thirty-seven states require schools to have a plan for what to do when there is a sports-related emergency. Both Georgia and South Carolina are on that list. These emergency action plans – or EAPs – are more than just a district-wide policy. They’re supposed to be location-specific. Each athletic facility requires an EAP, one for the gym, the football field, the track, the soccer field and so on.

(WRDW/WAGT) - As the memorial grows for Deputy Brandon Sikes and Deputy Gavin White continues to recover from being shot in the face, we are reminded that the job of a law enforcement officer is not the easiest or safest. As the community continues to give back to the families of those deputies, there is support for the men and women who worked with these deputies every day. Patrick Cullinan is the executive director of the Police Benevolent Association of Georgia.
