Brechner Freedom of Information Project at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) launched today a national Secrecy Tracker to help identify legislation that threatens the public’s access to government records and meetings. The tool allows anyone for free to see what bills are proposed in any state, Congress, and Washington, D.C., that are related to public records and open meeting laws.

As winter brings below-freezing temperatures to Atlanta, housing-insecure residents are at risk of being negatively affected by the extreme chill. But warming centers around the city won’t leave them out in the cold. The National Weather Service has declared a Winter Storm Watch in northern Georgia from Friday morning to Saturday morning, warning that snow, sleet, and freezing rain could pour down on Atlanta, leaving icy streets and 1 to 3 inches of snow on the ground.
