The past year has seen a fair share of Northern Lights viewings, as we are in an active period of the sun cycle. This time, it's thanks to a double eruption from the sun that launched two coronal mass ejections on April 12 and April 13. The first of those blasts already hit Earth's magnetic field, with a G3 or strong geomagnetic storm possible. This means the Northern Lights could dip, possibly as far south as Massachusetts and southern New England.

We'll have a bright and mild start to the week - with a pleasant spring feel. Skies clear out Monday morning as the weekend storm finally moves offshore. This is a welcomed end to the raw pattern that New England has been experiencing since the start of April. While we still have rain chances at times, the next 10 days do not have Boston locked in with clouds and rain chances for multiple days in a row with high temperatures above 50 degrees.

The cloudy and wet stretch continues for Sunday, though it will just be rain, unlike Saturday morning where 6.4" of snow came down in Worcester, Massachusetts -- similar to the 6.8" of snow that fell there on April 16, 2021. Sunday starts off damp and chilly, especially along the coast where periods of rain and patchy drizzle will linger through the morning.
