A pro-life organization in Minnesota has declared victory after the Minneapolis City Council amended an ordinance barring pro-life speech on public sidewalks outside of abortion clinics. Previously, Minneapolis had a buffer zone around its lone abortion clinic, Planned Parenthood on Lagoon Ave. However, last month the City Council changed its ordinance in response to a lawsuit and will now exclude constitutionally protected activities.

South Carolina parents are petitioning the state Supreme Court to reinstate the school choice program funding their children’s education. In a petition filed Thursday, parents and the Institute for Justice claim the court neglected to consider federal precedent regarding the Fourteenth Amendment when ruling against South Carolina’s Education Scholarship Trust Fund (ESTF) program.

The Georgia Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) has published a list of schools eligible for the state’s education savings accounts program. For students to be eligible for Georgia Promise Scholarships, they must be zoned for a public school in the bottom 25% for academic achievement, according to the state’s website. In addition, students must have attended one of these public schools for at least two consecutive semesters or be entering kindergarten.
