The Hindi critics of Bhakti literature have done more to eliminate the Bhakti-era poets, especially the women and Shudra poets, than to understand them. I will not name any one critic. In my opinion, the mainstream critics are completely messed up. I think that the main concern of these critics was not to understand the facts of history, but to save religion. These critics have the same enmity with history as religion has with science.

During my recent visit to the UK in August 2024, I was intrigued by the presence of imposing Church (Kirk) buildings in deteriorating conditions. In all cities and all along the way from London to Edinburgh by road or by train, church buildings are formidable and attractive. However, the buildings give the impression that those are not being used for congregational purposes. It was also obvious that no efforts are being made for their upkeep. What do dilapidated church buildings in the UK indicate?

Autumn (fall season, from September 22 to early November) can be a metaphor for transformation that takes place in nature as well as in our personal lives. Autumn is a transition from the energetic summer to the upcoming lethargic and dormant winter. Witnessing from late September through November, the unobtrusive views of big, mature Magnolia, Dogwood, the Red Mulberry, and the Japanese maple trees surrounding our house are bursting in every autumnal shade imaginable.

It was the early nineties. Things were normal. kids played in the backyards. Butterflies would be spotted and named. Kites would be flown in the spring. Children knew the flowers and plants by their common names. Plastic animals were gazed upon for hours as Discovery had not been yet discovered. Huge fascination for the concept of the Jungle was found among kids. How do lions spend their days in the jungle? We would day dream of the castles far away where everything was beautiful. Friends met each other.
