Plan for a very warm Monday with bright sun, light winds and above-average temperatures in Northern California. Highs across the Sacramento Valley peak in the mid-to-upper 80s. Tuesday will be cooler with more clouds and an onshore breeze. Valley highs peak in the mid to upper 70s. Sierra rain showers are likely in the afternoon. Wednesday could get quite active over the Sierra with showers and thunderstorms. The Valley and Foothills look to remain dry. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler.

Tahoe area ski resorts begin closing for the 2024-25 winter season this month.April is the time of year when the snowfall typically begins to slow down and resorts begin shifting into late spring/summer recreation activities. Only a few Tahoe area resorts with snowmaking equipment and the staff to stay open tend to run their season a little longer into May. If any bigger storms roll in before the end of the month, some resorts may choose to stay open a little longer than planned.

NOW WE’RE SEEING MOST OF YOU IN THE MID 60S AROUND THE CENTRAL VALLEY, WHERE THINGS ARE ANYWHERE FROM 3 TO 8 DEGREES WARMER AND A WARMER DAY HERE IN FAIRFIELD IS MORE OF THAT.
