A Missouri man allegedly strangled his ailing wife because he couldn’t care for her anymore, according to court documents obtained by Court TV. Ronnie Wiggs was arrested Friday in Jackson County and charged with second-degree murder. Authorities say Wiggs “choked” his wife as she lay in a hospital bed. A “Code Blue” was called and medical staff were able to regain her pulse, but she had no brain activity, states a probable-cause statement. The victim was at the hospital for a new port for dialysis.

A federal labor board ruled Apple violated labor laws when a retail store manager in New York City interrogated employees about potentially joining a union and prohibited union fliers from being distributed in the store’s break room. The National Labor Relations Board published its ruling on Monday, upholding an administrative judge’s decision that Apple infringed on sections of the National Labor Relations Act that protect employees' rights to form and support a labor organization.

Police are investigating a shooting outside rapper Drake's mansion in Toronto that left a security guard seriously wounded. Authorities did not confirm whether Drake was at home at the time of the shooting, but said his team is cooperating. The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday in the affluent Bridle Path neighborhood of Toronto. Toronto Police Inspector Paul Krawczyk said video of the shooting had been recovered and the guard who was wounded remains hospitalized.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A scenario playing out in Louisiana is highlighting the importance of protecting the water supply in Hampton Roads. As of Oct. 5, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was preparing to ship tens of millions of gallons of freshwater to New Orleans for people there to use. Because of the low Mississippi River water level, saltwater from the Gulf of Mexico was expected to get into the river, contaminating the city's water supply.
