    Three people were found dead in the wreckage of a small plane after it crashed into the Platte River south of Fremont on Friday night. About 8:15 p.m. Friday, a small aircraft crashed into the Platte River. The plane was traveling along the river when it went down, resulting in the deaths of all three individuals aboard, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

    Emergency personnel are on site of a plane crash that reportedly occurred shortly after 8 p.m. in the Platte River south of Fremont. Dodge County dispatchers told deputies they had received multiple calls about a plane hitting power lines and crashing into the Platte River. The first deputies arriving on scene reported spotting a white plane in the river. The Fremont Fire & Rescue Department were advised to meet deputies at the Hormel Park Boat Ramp.

    Saturday’s weather forecast of 60 degrees and sunny sounds like a perfect day for a walk. And it just so happens that MainStreet of Fremont’s Spring Gallery Walk is Saturday in downtown Fremont. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., downtown businesses will be hosting artists, musicians and more. There will be over 30 artists participating in the event which is designed to blend art, culture and community spirit.

Photos also can be put in the drop slot at the Fremont Tribune’s office at 135 N. Main St. in downtown Fremont. The drop slot is just to the left of our front door. Be sure to include your full name and school when submitting a photo.
