LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The United Longhorns had practice on Thanksgiving day and the players were thankful and excited for it. Senior and Right Guard Mauricio Maldonado expressed that gratitude, and he says the occasion reminds him of his older brother. He says, “It’s actually really amazing. I remember in 2019 my brother was practicing on Thanksgiving and I was like, ‘man I want to do that!’ That’s cool. I’m not going to feel bad about eating all the food, but yeah it’s amazing.

LAREDO, Tx (KGNS) - The Nixon Mustangs seem to be on track to winning the LISD Legacy Cup and maybe a district title. The Mustangs are on a three-game winning streak and Nixon is eyeing that championship. LAREDO, Tx. (KGNS) - A Laredo high school student is living the best of both worlds on the football field and during half time. Friday night football is a little different for Martin High School Senior Jeremy Mastin as he gets to play football and march up and down the field during his final year of high school. “I feel really proud of myself. I really wanted to be in football my freshman year, but I told myself let me try new things. So senior me I wanted to try it out,” said Jeremy.

Former Spurs player George Hill with All Around Hoops was in Laredo over the weekend. Hill stopped by Nixon High School to talk to the student athletes about his journey and how they can achieve their dreams.

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) - It was a good weekend for local baseball as the Tecolotes have moved past the second round of the playoffs. Los dos Laredos up ahead 3-2 in the series faced the Monterrey Sultanes in games six on Saturday. The Tecolotes score a run in the second inning getting the crowd at UniTrade pumped and rowdy. The fans did not hold back, the home team was able to lead in the third inning with a two RBI double by Balmbino. The Sultanes is the same team that the Tecos lost to last year.
