    Penn's ice skating rink was named Philadelphia's Best Ice Rink for 2024 in Metro Philly’s fourth annual “Winners Guide.”The Class of 1923 Ice Skating Rink in Penn Park serves as the home rink for the University's men's and women's hockey teams, the Penn Figure Skating Club, and numerous other teams in the city. The recognition was part of Metro Philly's list of businesses, organizations, and services voted the city's best with ballots cast by over 100,000 readers.

    Penn Carey Law School established a Democracy Consortium for student-led civic initiatives, aiming to provide structured avenues for election-related and democracy-focused projects.     Canadian journalist and author Malcolm Gladwell discussed his new book at a sold-out event at the Penn Museum last week.  Gladwell's Oct. 24 visit was the first Authors@Wharton event of the academic year. He showcased his latest book "Revenge of the Tipping Point: Overstories, Superspreaders, and the Rise of Social Engineering" in a discussion moderated by Wharton professor Adam Grant at the Penn Museum. The first 500 attendees received a free copy of Gladwell's book.
