HONOLULU (Island News) -- Earth Day is coming up April 22nd and the Honolulu Zoo is getting a head start with a Party for the Planet on Saturday, April 19th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Membership or general admission gets you access to the event, which features conservation stations and passports for keiki to learn about issues including sustainability, animal trafficking and poaching. The party also coincides with the second birthday of Akamu.

HONOLULU (Island News) – While the Department of Education (DOE) faced cuts nationwide, the state DOE launched the first “First Arts in Our Schools” Month. Throughout the month of March, student talent was on display as fine arts took center stage. Hawaii students took their show on the road, to perform at public places around Oahu.
