KITV4 Island News has been a prominent voice for the Islands since it began broadcasting in 1954. From its inception, the station has delivered essential news, entertainment, and sports updates. Currently, KITV4 Island News offers over 30 hours of local news content each week. Our weekday programming kicks off with Good Morning Hawaii at 4:30 a.m. We were pioneers in the market, being the first to introduce a Midday Newscast. Our evening schedule features a newscast at 5 p.m., followed by another hour at 6 p.m., and we conclude with an in-depth nightly report at 10 p.m. on KITV4 Island News Tonight. On weekends, KITV4 stands out as the only station offering a weekend morning newscast, Good Morning Hawaii, airing from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday broadcasts include news at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m., while Sundays feature news at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. As an ABC affiliate, KITV4 proudly presents a variety of entertainment programming, including World News Tonight and live sports events. KITV4 is deeply committed to the community, showcasing numerous local events and supporting valuable causes that benefit the residents of Hawaii. A recent initiative raised nearly $70,000 for Helping Hands Hawaii to assist families in need of food during the pandemic, all thanks to the generosity of our viewers in just a few weeks. Hawaii is our home, and the people of Hawaii are like family to us.

HONOLULU (Island News) -- A storm system pushes away from the islands lowering the chance for heavy rains. Lingering showers and clouds will appear for the first part of the weekend. Tonight, cloudy skies with a few showers will come. The focus of the rains will be near coastal sections. Lows are in the upper 60s. Saturday, some lingering clouds and passing rains are on the forecast. Overall, the showers will be less intense and flooding risk will be much lower.

HONOLULU (Island News) -- In a disturbing video we've chosen to freeze, a woman repeatedly slams her dog named Zuko before shoving him into the trunk of a car. "First slammed it to the ground, and then the dog's trying to get away so she picked it up again and slams it on the ground a second time," said Sgt. Vernon Ling, lead investigator at the Hawaiian Humane Society. "As the dog still tries to get away, then a third time and then a fourth time.""That video is pretty horrific," he said.
