Binghamton’s basketball team is playing in the Class AA Boys state semi-finals at the Visions Veteran Memorial Arena, and the turnout is expected to be massive. The Patriots boys basketball team is heading to the state final four for the first time in nearly 40 years. 12 News caught up with Patriots Head Coach Duncan Paddick before Thursday’s game.     CENTRE COUNTY, P.A. (WBNG) -- Penn State’s Board of Trustees approved a new name for the iconic Beaver Stadium at Penn State University Park. In a Teams call late Monday morning, a proposed name change was confirmed in a 22 to 8 vote in favor of “West Shore Field at Beaver Stadium”. The proposal comes following a $50 million gift from West Home Shore. According to its website, West Shore Home is a home remodeling company.

    BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame announced Friday afternoon the guest speaker for its 10th Annual HOF Induction Dinner. This year, at bat will be none other than William Nathaniel “Buck” Showalter. The legendary Major League Baseball Manager ran the show for the New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, and the New York Mets. Buck was drafted by the Yankees in 1977 and played seven seasons in the Yankees Minor League.

    KIRKWOOD, NY (WBNG) -- A fire has destroyed a trailer home Friday afternoon in Broome County. Officials were called out to the place at 236 Brown Road in Kirkwood sometime around 3:00 p.m.A WBNG photojournalist on scene reports that heavy smoke could be seen from miles away and that the trailer has been completely gutted. Around 3:30 p.m., smoke and patches of fire were still spotted amongst the rubble. So far no official details on any occupants or how the fire sparked in Broome County.
