Homelessness is often the result of a culmination of several events in a person’s life. As we have heard throughout This Is Nashville‘s housing series, In My Place, people can quickly struggle to maintain stable housing when a financial, medical or personal crisis hits. This is especially true when wages do not keep up with rising rents.

When Nashville in Harmony was founded in 2004, many of its members had to be discreet. 20 years later, it is known both locally and nationally. WPLN News wanted to know how cicada first-timers were feeling as the bugs emerge, so turned to the newsroom newbies for their hopes — and fears. The Muslim holy month of Ramadan ends this week. This year, students at Overton High school in South Nashville worked with administration to provide more intentional spaces for students to fast and pray.
