SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Midwest Honor Flight is slated to leave Sioux Gateway Airport to transport veterans to Washington, D.C., to see memorials of the wars they fought in. The Sioux City flight is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, 2025. A total of 85 veterans are set to go on this flight, and all are from the Sioux City regional area. Right now, the flight is 88% funded, according to its donation site. It’s raised $176,051 of its $200,000 goal.

The Crittenton Center says you can honor anyone who takes the role of “mom” in your life with a gift that gives back. The center supports children who are often removed from their households, or their mothers have been victims of domestic violence, leaving them in a hard place to celebrate this time of year.

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Starting this week, if you get stuck on the side of the road for any reason, the Iowa Department of Transportation has a program to provide free assistance in Sioux City. It’s called “Highway Helpers.” Team members, in designated trucks, can quickly address the needs of drivers who might need a jump start, tire change, fuel, or transportation to a safer spot while you tend to your vehicle.

Pay us a visit!” said Jennie Droog, Promotions Committee Member for the Orange City Tulip Festival. Nestled in the heart of Iowa’s Dutch country is the home of the upcoming Tulip Festival, which starts this year on Thursday, May 15, and goes through the weekend. “It started as a Flower Show in 1933, and then in 1936, it was our first festival,” added Droog.
