SALIX, Iowa (KTIV) - April showers bring May flowers and the buzzing of bees to pollinate, but the bees are dying off all across the country. A recent survey was done by “Project Apis M,” a group that researches and helps support beekeepers. The survey collected data from 702 beekeepers, which accounts for over 1.8 million colonies, 68% of the nation’s bees. This research shows that commercial beekeepers have an average loss of 62% of their colonies.

A new non-profit, “NW IA Baby Shower,” is gearing up to host its first event fitting with its name, a community baby shower.
