The wide majority of the Midlands will likely get rain at one point or another over the next several days. Isolated showers this morning will transition to widespread rain and storms this afternoon and evening. The strongest of these storms may briefly produce damaging wind gusts or large hail along with heavy rain and lightning. Most of this rain will clear out tonight, but that won't be the last of the wet weather.

At long last, much-needed rain is in the forecast over the next several days. Isolated showers and storms are expected to mainly stay north of I-20 late today and tonight. Any storms that do form will pose a low threat for damaging wind gusts and large hail. After a mainly dry morning, widespread showers and storms are likely tomorrow afternoon and evening across all of the Midlands. Thursday will be very similar, and rain totals between the two days combined could eclipse 1" for parts of the area.

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) — Today is the 10th straight dry day for the Midlands, but that streak will soon come to an end. A cold front will slowly move our way from the northwest on Tuesday. This will spark scattered showers and storms in the late afternoon and evening across South Carolina. The latest look at FutureWACH from Tuesday morning through Thursday morning. Not everyone will see rain on Tuesday, but those that do could get caught in some heavy downpours and have a low threat at severe weather.
