Task force launched to combat hate at PSU

In an email circulated to the PSU community on Jan. 9, Portland State President Ann Cudd announced the formation of the Task Force for Building Community and Fighting Hate at PSU. According to the email, two task force committees will work on improving violence prevention and response, as well as promoting a campus climate which nurtures the psychological safety of the PSU community.
ASPSU Children’s Center set to move locations

Associated Students of Portland State University (ASPSU) Children’s Center will be moving into the Helen Gordon Child Development Center building come fall 2024. Jose Coll, Ph. D., interim dean of the College of Education, made the decision in response to campus-wide budget cuts due to low enrollment. The move came to the attention of ASPSU Center families and staff by way of a premature announcement in the College of Education newsletter sent to faculty and staff the last week of February.

Valentine’s Day is a day that is celebrated worldwide as a day of love, affection and romance. It is a time when people express their love and appreciation for one another through gestures, gifts and messages. It is a time where love—or should I say commercialization—is in the air. Today, companies are capitalizing on the holiday under the charade of love, deluding the public to buy products bundled up in red and pink packaging.
