    Overcast, humid conditions throughout the day were still evident late Tuesday evening at Chancellor's Run Regional Park for a Frank Riley American Legion senior doubleheader, but they hardly proved impactful in the outcome as St. Mary's Post 255 swept La Plata, 2-0, 4-1, in that twin bill. To say Post 255 (Stefko) got stellar pitching on Tuesday would be an understatement as neither St. Mary's starter allowed a single run and the only run it surrendered in the nightcap was unearned.

    Guests will be permitted to get closer to nature in genuine fashion this Saturday morning and into the early afternoon when the Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center in Solomons hosts its annual Mud Day, when getting downright dirty is viewed as acceptable. Those in attendance will get to slip, slide and wrestle in the mud June 21 in conjunction with the 17th anniversary of International Mud Day, which began in 2009.
