I want to talk about equity in higher education, using three lenses: access, completion, and student success. Each of these is important in its own right, but equity can only be achieved by creating a diverse and welcoming community, ensuring learning outcomes that are equal among groups, and generating opportunities for all graduates independent of race, class, gender and other attributes or preferences.
