Wu says the next Open Streets ICT will be in May in the Nomar neighborhood, blocking off west 21st street. At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will discuss the process of putting the Crown Uptown Dinner Theater building on the Wichita Register of Historic Places. The owner has talked about demolishing the building after failing to get permission to expand it.

The Wichita City Council has a workshop planned for Tuesday. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News the council will discuss street maintenance and paving dirt streets, and what it will cost. Mayor Wu says the Council will look at prioritizing jobs for funding. Wu says public safety is most important to citizens in public surveys, with streets and roadways second. Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.

U.S. Senator from Kansas Dr. Roger Marshall tells KNSS News, Kansas farm crops need more water. Marshall says "you never have enough rain in Kansas." However he acknowledges "we've had a good average winter," but rainfall has been "spotty."Marshall's been traveling the state, talking with people about their concerns. He is trying to visit 20 Kansas counties this week. The Senator says a big problem he sees is 70,000 young men in Kansas out of work.

Spear-heading the effort locally is Sedgwick County Emergency Management Director Julie Stimson, who tells KNSS News her department's mission isn't just weather-related.
