The last measles case identified in Sedgwick County was in 2017. Sedgwick County is holding a news conference this afternoon.

    At Wednesday's meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission will look at a quarterly financial report. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News the County is in good financial shape. He says Sedgwick County is one of only 106 counties in the U.S. with a AAA bond rating. That means bonding a project saves the taxpayers dollars. Baty says "we are not a debt-ridden county", and most of the county's debt will be falling off over the next years.

    One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. The annual free skin cancer screening clinic is Saturday in Wichita. Dermatologist Dr. Landon Johnson tells KNSS News no insurance is required and no appointment is necessary. They can't treat people, but can point out suspicious spots that need further attention from a doctor. Dr. Johnson says they examine between 200 and 400 people at the clinic each year.

    The Wichita City Council and Sedgwick County Commission are meeting together today. County Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News they're discussing a settlement from drug companies and opioid addiction, combining funds to deploy resources in the community to best combat opioid addiction. Baty says the combined settlement could be as high as $10 million.

    The Wichita City Council and Sedgwick County Commission will meet en banc Tuesday morning. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News the City is facing budget budget shortages, and they will look for ways to hold down spending, possibly with ideas from the county commissioners. Wu says the City wants to examine ways to save money in the parks department. Facing millions in budget shortfalls in the future, there's been suggestions that the City might increase its sales tax or property tax.

Since I'm on my 4th pair on Cloudventures, you must be doing something right .@on_running, but the redesign of the tongue is not working. Every time I put these new ones on, the tongue gets pushed down, it bunches up, and then makes the shoes too tight. Minor flaw, big impact.
