When I was in graduate school in New York City, my colleagues and I frequently scoured Chinatown in lower Manhattan in search of the most authentic and fiery Sichuan (aka Szechuan) cooking we could find. Unfortunately, since moving to Utah I hadn’t had much luck finding Chinese restaurants specializing in Sichuan food. No luck, that is, until I happened recently upon Beijing restaurant in Sugar House.

I recently spent a weekend at the all new Grand Hyatt Deer Valley checking out the food and drink options there, including the new flagship resort restaurant, Remington Hall. The first Friday of each month marks the monthly South Salt Lake Brewery Art Stroll. On each first Friday, South Salt Lake breweries host a local artist and exhibit their art. From 6 pm to 10 pm you can come meet the artists, check out (and perhaps purchase) their works, and enjoy craft brewed local beers. Participating breweries include SaltFire Brewing Co., Grid City Beer Works, Chappell Brewing, and Level Crossing Brewing Company.
