AbstractQuality of care can be measured in several dimensions: different clinical disciplines, structures/processes/outcomes of care (SPO), and also different domains of quality (effectiveness, safety, care coordination, patient-centeredness, efficiency, timeliness, and community/population health). To our knowledge, no previous study has compared different sets of performance measures in terms of how well they cover these different aspects of quality.

This study examined oral health behaviors and disparities among migrant, Arab, and Jewish children in South Tel Aviv, with a particular focus on parent–child associations. Arab children in this study were less likely to brush their teeth twice daily compared with Jewish or migrant children, whereas migrant children reported more teeth filing and were more likely to use general anesthesia for dental treatment than Jewish or Arab children.

Tobacco package inserts [TPIs] are a novel channel to transmit smoking cessation messages. Research has shown associations between inserts, intentions to quit and increased self-efficacy. In Israel, TPIs have been legislated, but not yet implemented. This study aimed to learn what kind of messages would appeal to people who smoke, for the purpose of developing effective TPIs. Semi-structured interviews with 25 people who smoke or formerly smoked, aged 18-67.

AbstractSympathetic overstimulation of Müller’s muscle is a suggested mechanism underlying upper eyelid retraction in thyroid eye disease (TED). We examined the effect of tamsulosin, an alpha-1 antagonist, on eyelid retraction in patients with TED. A single-centre prospective study. Patients with TED and associated eyelid retraction were treated with oral 0.4 mg/day tamsulosin for 3 months.

Over the years, reports have associated fluoroquinolones (FQ) with seizures. The incidence and whether FQ compared to non-epileptogenic antibiotic are associated with increased risk of seizures has yet to be examined. A retrospective observational study of hospitalized patients treated with FQ (ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin) or macrolides (MA: azithromycin or roxithromycin) between January 2009 and January 2021 in a large tertiary academic medical centre.
