    DALLAS COUNTY, Iowa — An incident involving law enforcement caused the closure of I-80 in both directions of travel in Dallas County Tuesday morning. The first call went out on law enforcement dispatch radios around 1:30 Tuesday morning. On the law enforcement radio traffic, a dispatcher said, “Deputy says male is actively shooting at her.” Officers closed I-80 west of De Soto as the investigation unfolded.

    DES MOINES, Iowa — Federal grants to local libraries and museums have been halted following an executive order. President Donald Trump signed an executive order a month ago, dismantling seven independent government agencies. The order states the goal is to reduce the parts of the federal bureaucracy that Mr. Trump determined to be “unnecessary.”The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is one of the agencies named in the order.
