Introduction Synthetic polymers have established themselves as a cornerstone of daily life, since their advent in the early 1900s until the present day. A vast assortment of materials with manifold properties are available to the modern-day polymer chemist, including but not limited to materials possessing strength, malleability, elasticity, high thermal stability, chemical resistance, electrical conductivity and charge storage, among many others.
